Graphite production process for lithium battery negative electrode materials

People often think that the manufacture of negative electrode materials only requires throwing the raw materials into the sintering furnace and raising the temperature for sintering. In fact, the preparation of artificial graphite requires four major processes of "crushing, granulation, graphitization, and screening" and many small processes. The granulation and graphitization stages have very high technical barriers!
Let's start with the raw materials of artificial graphite:
Aggregates for making graphite are divided into three categories: coal-based, petroleum-based, and coal-petroleum mixed. Among them, coal-based needle coke, petroleum-based needle coke, and petroleum coke are widely used. In the current market, high-end negative electrodes use needle coke as raw materials, and mid- and low-end negative electrodes use cheap petroleum coke as raw materials; asphalt is used as a binder to bond different particles together.
The production of artificial graphite first involves a pretreatment process. According to the needs of the product, the graphite raw materials and asphalt are mixed in different proportions, and then the Air Mill is used to grind the powder. The ground raw materials enter the granulation process. Among them, the granulation process is divided into pyrolysis and ball mill screening processes. The size, distribution, and morphology of the granules will directly affect the performance of the negative electrode material!

2. The process is fully negative pressure operated, there is no dust pollution on site, clean and environmentally friendly!
3. The crushing and classification accuracy can be adjusted arbitrarily between D50=5-17 microns.
4. The particle shaping morphology is good and the curve is concentrated
